My Online Journey From Dial-Up to One Wise Link

My online journey has been long, challenging, frustrating, rewarding, and ultimately very growth-enriched.

I first started making money online back in the days of bulletin board systems, before most people had even heard of the internet as we know it today. My first bulletin board was accessed through a 1200 baud modem. At the time, that felt high-tech. Looking back now, it is amazing how far things have come.

As dial-up, AOL, and bulletin boards slowly faded, I discovered AltaVista, Yahoo, and eventually the internet as we know it today. Back then, the online world felt wide open. Every new thing seemed full of possibilities. My wife at the time encouraged me to try to make money online, and that planted a seed that never really went away.

I started by building websites for churches and non-profits. Eventually, other businesses began hiring me as well. It was exciting because for the first time, I could see that there were real opportunities online if you were willing to learn and work.

Around 2006 or so, I discovered Allan Says and the Warrior Forum. I paid for access and connected with a coach who taught me how to sell solo ads. I did fairly well with it, but it was never really my passion.

Then, around 2013, I discovered affiliate marketing. It was very different from what I had done successfully offline, and I was intrigued by the possibilities. By 2015, I was actively doing affiliate marketing. I made some money, but nothing life-changing.

Somewhere around the end of 2015 or early 2016, I hired another coach that I found through Warrior Forum. Unfortunately, he turned out to be a scammer, or at the very least someone who did not really know what he was doing. Even so, he did expose me to some of the possibilities of online business.

The single most important thing he taught me was the importance of building a real email list.

That lesson changed everything.

There were a lot of fake coaches, shiny objects, wasted money, and frustrating lessons along the way. For years, it often felt like I was spending more money than I was making. But by the middle of 2017, I finally reached the point where I was consistently making more than I was spending. That was the first time I truly believed I could make this work long-term.

Even then, I was not completely comfortable. There were still ups and downs. There were still mistakes and disappointments. But things gradually improved over time.

Fast forward to today, and things are much better for me than they were back then.

The reason I wanted to build One Wise Link is because I wanted to create the system I wish had existed when I first started.

Too many people get involved in online business only to become overwhelmed, confused, distracted, or discouraged. They buy course after course, join program after program, and spend money on tools they do not understand. They chase shiny objects, follow bad advice, and end up feeling like success is always just out of reach.

I know what that feels like because I lived it.

That is why I want One Wise Link to be different.

I want it to be a place where beginners can get real guidance without feeling overwhelmed. I want experienced marketers to find value too. I want people to have access to tools, training, traffic, community, and honest program reviews all in one place.

I want it to feel more like the original days of Warrior Forum when people shared real ideas, real experiences, and real strategies before everything became endless launches and hype.

I do not want One Wise Link to be about unrealistic promises.

I want it to be about helping people build something real.

That is what I needed when I first started.

And now, that is what I want to build for others.
